Tailored training and coaching

The Challenge

A multi-generational family firm is inherently a balancing act between forces pulling in different directions, such as shareholders seeking dividend and executives looking for business investment. Since long-term success depends on family cohesiveness, family members must all understand the key family business principles and be practiced in making decisions together.

The Solution

Families with family firms or family offices can often benefit from training programmes run specifically for them, and so enhance family cohesion as well as learning. The programmes are tailored to match the objectives set by the family, using world-class experts. The programmes can be run at your offices, an off-site location or remotely. Here are just a few examples:

Annual family gatherings, off-sites and next generation meetings
Families often wish to provide an educational dimension to complement the social or business sides of family gatherings. We can design lively educational sessions in which family members learn from a leading family business expert, often in an interactive session with a guest speaker from another family.

Developing family governance and a family constitution
Often, when a family is thinking of creating a family constitution, there are different levels of engagement and knowledge within the family. This course is designed to bring everyone up to a common level of understanding. It explains the purpose of a family constitution; how to develop one; how to gain buy-in and how it can be amended over time.

Family Business Entrepreneurship Masterclass with Live Case Simulation
The Masterclass is run by two INSEAD Business School professors who teach entrepreneurship at the School. It is particularly useful for family members who may wish to own or manage their own firms. Run over one or two days, it is an intensive simulation of 3 months in an entrepreneurial business.

Next generation training
The future success of a family may depend, in large part, on how family members are prepared for their future roles and responsibilities. Next generation is designed to educate, but also to get next family members used to solving challenges together, in realistic case studies.
